Moderators Report:
Websites and music video are both work the same amount of marks (25 marks) so ensure to complete them both to the same level. Digital convergence carries 10 marks so if it lacks this then marks can be lost.
Make sure your song correctly fits the brief. Our brief is anthems so choose something that will “elate pride” and celebration. It should be an upbeat song.
Editing should match the beat and rhythm of the song to make it most successful and engaging.
The best websites went beyond the brief in terms of amount of material, bespoke photography and a degree of sophistication.
Ensure your website and music video aesthetic are consistent. Brand identity must be established in both products to create a house style.
Don’t rely on use of templates provided without personalisation of them. Either start with a blank template or insist nothing is left from a template. Make sure to edit the pages you don’t use also so there aren’t template pages left.
Add creative and ‘exclusive’ content for the website that may engage audiences more e.g. ‘special access’ or ‘lookbooks’
Linked page on websites and home pages must have some continuity and so equal efforts applied. Aim to make them equally engaging.
Link between two products could be stronger by using tweets, Instagram posts, newsletters etc. Use cross-media convergence to promote the artist and make sure the same people feature in your music video as in your website.
Have a specific colour scheme, font, logo and models that are used consistently to create convergence.
