Context of Sony:

Sony Music was founded in 1929 and began as the American Record Corporation (ARC). ARC acquired Columbia Records in 1934 and was then bought out by Columbia in 1938. It is based in Japan and is comprised of many other companies such as: Sony Pictures and Sony Interactive Entertainment. Sony claim to demonstrate a "diverse roster of artists."
